Distinguished James McGill Professor, McGill University



Dr. Nancy Heath is a Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University. She is an international leader in the study of mental health in educational settings and a recipient of McGill’s Distinguished James McGill Professorship awarded for sustained scholarship of world-class caliber and international leadership. Dr. Heath has 167 publications, 354 conferences and has held over 6.5 million dollars in funding. In her 30-year career she has supervised 85 graduate students. Her students are diverse in their interests and career paths, graduating to become researchers/scholars, community leaders, educators, or clinicians. In recognition of her outstanding graduate supervision and teaching she has received McGill University’s 2023 David Thomson Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching, as well as the 2011 Canadian Committee of Graduate Students in Education Mentorship Award.
